As this remarkable home approaches its 100th anniversary, it is beginning a new chapter—one dedicated to providing lifelong care for cats, preserving local history, educating our community, and inspiring future generations.

🏡 Exciting Changes Are Underway 🏡
Healing Paws Cat Sanctuary is currently closed to the public as we begin an exciting new chapter in our journey. Our historic campus is undergoing a major transformation that will allow us to provide even better care for the cats who call Healing Paws home while expanding the services and programs we offer our community.
Our expansion plans include restoring our historic 1927 farmhouse, constructing new sanctuary facilities, developing a low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinic, creating educational gardens and outdoor spaces, improving animal care areas, and building a welcoming campus for visitors, volunteers, and future generations.
Although our doors are temporarily closed during this important phase, our commitment to the cats has never changed. Every day, we continue providing the love, medical care, and lifelong sanctuary they deserve while working toward a brighter future for Healing Paws.

Every piece of land has a story... and ours began long before Healing Paws Cat Sanctuary, the historic farmhouse, or even the Town of Wetumka itself.
The Heritage Chronicles are an ongoing historical preservation project dedicated to uncovering, preserving, and sharing the rich history of our property, Block 36, and the community that surrounds it. Each Chronicle is created using original photographs, historical documents, maps, newspaper articles, and other verified sources whenever available.
